Sylvid are a folk-fusion duo formed by singer-songwriter Maria Mihailik and jazz-fusion artist Helena Day. They bring a soulful sound and lush harmonies to beloved traditional folk songs, with an emphasis on music from the Appalachian region. Despite their recent formation, Sylvid are already making waves on the current folk scene, having performed with The Water Chorus, Broadside Hacks and more. The pair are also among the hosts of one of London’s most popular trad nights, Folk of the Round Table.
